“Plastic.. Around it Goes” a poem

about-2

Ubiquitous.. plastic makes so many things better .. yet there’s a stain on our lovely earths skin.

Hopelessly wasted in our lands and oceans …where do we begin?

So much promise to help mankind … Yet left without purpose, to lay blind till end of time.

It’s greatest strength is it’s deepest worry… Villainized by stagnation, with no future of glory.

Like so many, looked upon in two distinctly different lights…

Waste in the one hand, resource the other, both in the fight.

But for imagination and vision, bolder paths begin…

Innovators with an eye on tomorrow, rolling up sleeves to dig in.

Prepared for its journey, delivered baled over roads …

Received with purpose, guided by a triangle and recycling codes.

Into the grinder, reduced in size to travel its way… into the bath, contaminates away.

400 degrees, rotating down the screw and out the screen…

Purified like saints, engineered to accomplish its dream.

Packaged into boxes, pellets stacked twelve hundred pounds high…

Full of potential towards its nextlife, it’s virtue ready to be realized.

By way of circular travel, imagination sustained …

Molded back with purpose, touching each link of the chain.

Proudly made good as new, better actually…

Carrying the promise of our children, achieving its destiny.
